Wil Herrington earns Hard Charger award in Early Bird 50 at Needmore Speedway

Planning to join the Crate Racin' USA Series for the following two weekends, Wil Herrington kicked things off at Needmore Speedway (Norman Park, Ga.) on Friday afternoon in the 14th-annual Early Bird 50.

Herrington missed the mark during his time trial run, but made up a few spots to finish fourth in his heat race and lock himself into Saturday's 50-lap feature event. Starting 12th, Wil quietly moved forward and got all the way to second-place before the checkers fell. Herrington trailed Jeremy Steele while Joseph Brown completed the podium.

Herrington also competed in the CRUSA Street Stock portion of the weekend and finished fourth in the 25-lap main event.
