Wil Herrington earns $10,000 hometown victory with Southern Thunder at Cochran Motor Speedway
Kicking off the 2026 season with the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series at his home track, Wil Herrington was of 23 entries at Cochran (Ga.) Motor Speedway on Saturday for the $10,000-to-win season opener with the tour.
Missing the mark during his time trial run, Herrington charged from third-to-first in his heat race which positioned him on the pole for the 50-lap feature event. Wil led every lap in dominating fashion and took home the $10,000 payday over Mark Whitener and Kyle Bronson in front of his hometown crowd.
Herrington leads the STSDS point standings.
